Apple MA711LL/A TV with 40GB Hard Drive

Stunning Simplicity
Simplicity at its best. This little box is simple to connect and get up and running over a wireless network and sync up with iTunes. Once connected this amazing device delivers in a stunning fashion. Most of the media content I “consume” comes from the internet (podcasts, YouTube, Flickr, etc). so imagine the feeling of being able to enjoy this from the living room rather than being tethered to a computer.

Of course you have access to your iTunes library (music, movies, video, podcasts, etc.) and the sweet thing is that you’re not limited to the content of a single computer. You can access the content of multiple computers – how cool is that!

A nice feature is being able to get media without having to have a computer on, such as Flickr, YouTube, and Podcasts. Nice!

I’ve already decided to get a 2nd Apple TV, this time the 160gb model.

My world changed when I hooked this device up and I’m not going back.

P.S.

You can buy and rent movies from the iTune store. I’d do this through the computer and port over what I wanted to watch on the Apple TV.

Definitely the wave of the future
I’ve owned Apple TV for several months. For the most part, I absolutely love it.

Upside:
Great quality, especially HD
No more discs
HDMI
Digital Copy now appears on a lot of DVD’s and Blu Ray
Endless entertainment through the Apple Store
With a fast connection, even HD video is near instant-on

Downside:
Like most of the cutting-edge technology, there are glitches.
It sometimes crashes.
Sometimes its a little slow.
A real pain to bring in DVD’s due to copy protection
Pricey movies and television.

VideoSecu Adjustable Tilt Wall Mount Plasma TV LCD Flat Panel Screen black Bracket MP50B 1GR

Wonderful Product
I tried to find an inexpensive mount and all I could find in the store is very expensive ones. When I found this one I thought I would give it a try because of the price. I think it is great! Very well built and comes with everything you need. I would not hesitate to buy another one if I ever need it.

Awesome!
I bought this unit for my 42″ LCD TV. It is easy to install and very realiable. I would recommend this product strongly. Thank you

Zinwell ZAT-970A Digital to Analog TV Converter Box

Zinwell ZAT-970A Digital to Analog TV Converter Box Customer Review: comparison with dtvpal plus
I purchased the two major timer event schedulable/programmable converter boxes available as of this date: the Zinwell and the DTVPal Plus (enhanced version of the DTVPal or TR-40 CRA). These are some of the major problems and advantages of each.

The biggest problem I have with the Zinwell is that the remote control is the flimsiest and cheapest control I have ever seen with any product. The down arrow button is already having problems responding to pressing after only a few days. It usually takes several years before buttons on a remote control begin to go bad, and I am concerned that this one will not even be working a year from now.

The biggest problem with the DTVPal Plus is the reception. The Plus is supposed to have enhanced reception over the prior models which were famous for bad reception (and you pay $20 more for the ‘enhancement’), but in my area it gets a couple less UHF channels than the Zinwell and often has some breakup on the local ABC affiliate.

Both devices get the clock time automatically from the digital signal but both devices keep erratic time occasionally, and the Zinwell is especially bad. After a few days, the Zinwell became stuck at 62 minutes behind the correct time and the DTVPal Plus became stuck at 53 minutes ahead. If you are buying this to schedule timed events, this is obviously going to be a problem. Attempts to remedy do not help, but after a couple of days the devices go back to the correct time for awhile. The Zinwell has no daylight savings on/off (which is not the problem in my case anyway), while the DTVPal Plus does allow you to control daylight savings. The Zinwell has the advantage that you can manually set the time, while the DTVPal Plus does not allow you to. Even after manually setting the time in the Zinwell, I found it loses 1-2 minutes per week and also loses the clock time completely if power goes out even for a second (most devices will hold the time for 2-3 minutes in a power outage). I have mine on a UPS (backup battery) to keep it from losing time in a brief power outage. At least the Zinwell allows you to control the time.

I have had a problem with the Zinwell mysteriously changing the number of channels (ch. 5 suddenly became 31) with no way of changing the numbers back-even re-recognizing does not help. This is a huge annoyance that makes browsing channels and scheduling events difficult. The Zinwell has a quirk at the end of the timer scheduling process that makes it easy to cancel your timer event, so watch out.

The analog pass-thru of the DTVPal Plus provides a strong signal but shuts off digital operation if you go into analog pass-thru mode. The Zinwell puts a little interference on the analog signal, but if you connect all cables (both RF/coax and RCA/composite) it keeps digital operation alive while in pass-thru mode so it is easy to switch back and forth between digital and analog channels. If you turn off the DTVPal Plus, it will automatically go into pass-thru mode, but if you turn off the Zinwell pass-thru is not available-the Zinwell must be powered on in order to use analog pass-thru.

If you like on-screen program guides, the DTVPal Plus has a better one than the Zinwell, and you can even schedule timer events direct from the program guide with the DTVPal Plus. If you get a Zinwell, do not throw out the manual. Zinwell has unfortunately set a password on some of the channel functions, so you will need to look up the default password in the manual if you try to access these functions.

Do not expect much support. Both companies took several days to respond to an inquiry and gave canned answers that did not address my question. After supplying follow-up information, neither company got back to me. There are several other issues and quirks with both devices.
Customer Review: It works
Unpack it, hook it up, and use it. No problem.

Audiovox VE927 9-Inch LCD Drop-Down TV

The ultra slim 9″ LCD drop down TV with built-in slot load DVD player (VE927) features 16:9 aspect ratio, ATSC/NTSC tuner, AM/FM clock radio, stereo speakers, and remote control. It plays DVD, CD, CDR, CDRW.
Pretty darn good…
We are happy with this unit, but as others have mentioned the competition for this type of product is pretty weak, so it’s only better than others out there.
If we were going to watch whole DVDs in this unit – one’s we hadn’t seen before – we’d be pretty distressed that the 16×9 picture is stuck at a wide screen aspect ratio, so that something that should be 16×9 is kinda squished top to bottom. Adjustments, other than switching to 4×3, have no affect on the built in screen. But we don’t really care ’cause we’re going to watch new DVDs in another room anyway. This TV is for company and comfort in the kitchen and it’s just fine for that.
The radio is very nice – we love NPR in the morning – but the tuning is funky like others have said.
The unit detected lots and lots of channels on the cable and supposedly some are in HD – but who can tell on a 9″ screen?
If it will just keep working for at least a couple of years we’ll be happy.
Customer Service Was Helpful
Our unit had some initial problems but they were solved by Audiovox tech support. Set up and installation are straight forward. The footprint of the TV works well with a standard above counter cabinet and results in a nice clean look.
TV
Our TV has an excellent picture with a cable connection. The unit has about a 3-5 sec sound delay after you see the picture on start up and on channel change. The remote is small with a lot of mini buttons on limited real estate. The TV is not perfect but it meets our needs and overall is a good value. This unit was for a second home. We are now buying one for our year around house.

TECH SUPPORT
Our unit worked as advertised for about three weeks. After a power outage we couldn’t get any sound, however the picture was fine. After a 10 minute hold I got a knowledgeable tech support representative. He thought there was a reasonable chance the unit was toast, so he did two things. He gave me instructions on how to do a hard restart / reboot of the TV and he connected me with customer support so I could get a return authorization (without starting over all over in their system). After getting my return authorization I played with the reboot and got my unit working. The family now has 6+months use with the unit without further problems.

Save your box. They have a repair or replace return program that sounded reasonable. Fortunately I haven’t needed to try it yet.

CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD TV ARTICULATING DUAL ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 32-63″ DISPLAYS UP TO 180LBS BLACK

CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD TV ARTICULATING DUAL ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 32-63″ DISPLAYS UP TO 180LBS BLACK This is a very substantial mount with Dual arms and over 30lbs of steel. The arms extend over 20″ from the wall yet fold to less than 5″. Even at full extension, this mount has very little sag or twist. It is rated for up to 180lbs and most displays 52″ and smaller weigh under 100lbs. The unit has 4 tilt adjustment knobs and two tilt adjustment screws and it will tilt forward or back 15 degrees. The wall plate is over 19″ wide and has wide slots making it easy to mount into standard 16″ studs even if they are not exactly 16″ apart. The TV plate is 32″ wide and the arms fold outward when pushed up against the wall. Thus, the TV plate and possibly the arms may be visible on the sides of 32″ units. The universal design will fit any display with a hole pattern up to 26.3″ wide and 18″ tall. The wall plate is 1/8″ thick and very stable and includes a large center hole for cable pass-though into the wall. This mount will swivel approximately 120 degrees depending on the size of your display. Installation instructions and hardware included.
Customer Review: Great wall mount
When I received this mount I could hardly believe how much it weighs. 38# of steel that allows me to manuver the tv all over the place. The design allows the tv to be moved out, side to side, and swiveled to almost 90 degrees. Great preoduct!
Customer Review: Excellent price; rugged product
Used this mount for a 52″ LCD wall mount. It was simple and rugged. The price was far lower than competing mounts. The arms move smoothly, and it articulates through an excellent range from the wall and wide angles at any range. I am extremely pleased with the mount.

The only negative feature is that the arm-mechanism is a little heavy 25-30 lbs, making mounting it a little more than just “cake”. I set the arms on my shoulders, where it balanced reasonably well, and then screwed it to the wall.
